Q: How to install / uninstall the program?

Working with editor

Q: What are transpositions used for?
A: A situation: you have downloaded the text of a song from the Internet, and there are no familiar chords in it! There is just sharps, flats and other strange symbols. :) To play it, not having broken fingers, it is necessary to convert these chords to those ones, that you are using most often, for example Am, C, E7, Dm.

After transposing the melody will sound above or below the original. To restore its original sounding, set that value of a transposition on your synthesizer which the program will offer. After that when you press, for example, Am, the F#m chord will sound (as in the original).

Q: How to split compositions being in one file?
A: Here the step-by-step instruction:

  1. Start the program.
  2. Open Program Settings (F5).
  3. Uncheck "Process parameters of melody when a file is loaded".
  4. Press Ok.
  5. Open the text.
  6. Mark with asterisk sign (*) those lines, which contain names of singers (or album titles), and with two asterisks (**) - song titles. You can find example file testsong.txt in Examples folder.
Note: the line with a name of a singer (or album title) always should be placed before the text of a composition!
  7. Save file (F2).
  8. Check "Process parameters of melody when a file is loaded" in Program Settings.
  9. Open the file again.

Now to switch between compositions use buttons [<<] [<] [>] [>>] on the instrumental panel.

Q: I have not understood how to make a html file with my song(s)?
A: First of all, you should register the program. Only the full version of Transposer can save HTML files on disk. Here the step-by-step instruction:

  1. Start the program.
  2. If the file with compositions is not separated into separate songs yet - then you have to carry out the previous instruction (see "How to split compositions being in one file?"). Otherwise go to a next step.
  3. Open your lyrics file.
  4. Open Program Settings (F5).
  5. Open "View" tab and choose necessary style in the Color themes list.
  6. Open "Export to HTML" tab and choose a HTML page template.
  7. Press Ok.
  8. Save file in HTML format: from main menu choose File | Save as web-page | Whole file...

That's all!

Q: How to print out the text with chords on the printer?
A: As texts with chords are flat text files, to print them you can use any text editor (for ex. Notepad or WordPad). If you wish to print the text with highlighted chords, reserved words, etc. - you should get full version of Transposer. That version can save a file in RTF format which can be printed in Microsoft Word. Alternatively you can save a file in HTML format which can be viewed and printed in any Internet browser (for ex. Internet Explorer).

Q: How to instruct the Transposer not to modify colors of scroll bars in browsers?
A: Open Program Settings (F5), "Export to HTML" tab, then uncheck "Change colors of scroll bars in Internet Explorer".
